🛡️ Privacy & Security

Q: Does CompareSheets store my Excel files?
A: No. Your Excel files are never uploaded or stored. All comparisons happen locally on your device.

Q: Do you collect any data from my Excel content?
A: No. We do not access or analyze the content of your files. The add-in only compares what you open locally.

🧾 Licensing

Q: Who processes my payment?
A: All payments are securely processed by Paddle.com, which also handles VAT (included) and invoices.

Q: Will I receive a license key?
A: After payment, you’ll receive a confirmation email with instructions tailored to your selected plan.

Q: Can I get a refund?
A: No. We do not offer refunds. A free trial is available so you can evaluate the product before purchasing.

💻 Usage

Q: Do I need Excel Desktop to use CompareSheets?
A: No. CompareSheets works in Excel Desktop (Windows and Mac) and in Excel Online, as long as you have Office 365 (Microsoft 365) or a compatible Excel version that supports Add-ins.

Q: Can I use it offline?
A: Yes. Once installed and activated, CompareSheets can work without an internet connection for comparison tasks.

Q: Why isn’t the comparison working correctly?
A: For CompareSheets to function properly, please ensure the following:

  • The headers must be on the first row (Row 1) of each sheet.
  • The columns must start from the first column (Column A), with no empty columns before.
  • Merged cells are not supported — especially in the header row or in the data range.

The structure of the file must be clean and consistent so the comparison logic can accurately match columns and data.

Q: How do I activate CompareSheets?
A: After your purchase, you will receive an email with activation instructions.

Q: Do I need to be online to activate the product?
A: Yes, an internet connection is required for the initial activation.

Q: How are updates delivered?
A: Updates are delivered automatically if you are connected to the internet, or you will be notified to download the latest version.

💳 Pricing & Subscription

Q: Is CompareSheets a one-time purchase or subscription?
A: CompareSheets is sold as a subscription (monthly or yearly), handled through Paddle.

Q: Can I cancel my subscription?
A: You can turn off auto-renewal at any time via the Paddle customer portal.
Your subscription will remain active until the end of the current billing period (monthly or yearly, depending on your plan). No refunds are issued for unused time.

Q: Why does CompareSheets use keys to compare files?
A: Keys let CompareSheets match the right rows, even if the order is different. That’s how it finds real differences more accurately than tools that just go line by line. See more details on Docs page for more explinations.
